Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Dushanbe Police Directorate have detained a 57-year-old Dilrabokhon Pirnazarova, a resident of Temourmalik district of Khatlon province, who had been wanted for 11 years, says the Dushanbe Police Directorate press center.

"Pirnazarova is suspected of a large-scale fraud.  Since 2014, she has been officially wanted in connection with a crime under Article 247 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – fraud,” the report said.

Pirnazarova is currently under arrest. Specific details of the crime have not been disclosed.

If found guilty under the mentioned article, she faces a fine ranging from 1,460 to 2,190 calculation indicators (1 indicator = 75 somonis), or imprisonment for a term of 8 to 12 years.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 22,300 crimes were registered in Tajikistan in 2024, which is 996 crimes more than in 2023.  The most common crime was theft — 3,858 cases, followed by fraud — 3,480 cases.
