Tajikistan’s privately-owned airline, Somon Air, in partnership with Antares LLC (fly.tj), announces the launch of a direct flight to the popular Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The launch of this air route marks an important step in strengthening tourism and business ties between Tajikistan and Egypt, says Somon Air press center, noting that the first flight on this air route is scheduled for May 11.

Flights will be operated once a week, on Sundays, using modern Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-900 aircraft.

The flight time from Dushanbe to Sharm El-Sheikh is 5 hours and 30 minutes, and 5 hours for the return journey.

This new route will provide convenient air travel for travelers from Tajikistan seeking to enjoy the warm beaches of the Red Sea, its rich underwater world, and the high level of service at one of Egypt’s top resorts, Somon Air press center reports, adding that the launch was made possible thanks to successful collaboration with travel agencies.

Abdulqosim Valiyev, CEO of Somon Air, commented: “The launch of the Sharm El-Sheikh flight is a major step in strengthening bilateral ties between our countries.  We believe this route will enhance tourism, foster business relationships, and encourage cultural exchange.  We’re excited to offer our passengers more opportunities for comfortable travel. Sharm El-Sheikh is among the most sought-after destinations, and we are confident in the high demand for this flight.”
