The Prosecutor's Office of the Sughd region of Tajikistan has published and posted photos of two suspects in the murder of a resident of Jabbor Rasul district, appealing to the public to help in their search. A reward of 100,000 somoni has been announced for providing information that will help catch suspects.

Zarif Abdurakhimov, a resident of Jabbor Rasul district, was stabbed to death in his house on the night of June 27-28 this year in front of his children. The authorities then said that "the crime has been solved, the investigation is ongoing.

" Now, exactly two months after the murder, the authorities have admitted that the suspects have not yet been found or arrested, and in this regard, by publishing and posting photos of the suspects in the murder of Zarif Abdurakhimov, they appealed to residents to help in their search and arrest.

"If you recognize the people in the photo, know their location, or have other important information about the murder, please contact the operational search group of the Sughd region Prosecutor's Office at 83422-6-59-20, or the Jabbor Rasul district Prosecutor's Office at 83455 2-27-14, 2-26-61, 2-17-45, 90-100-00-09", according to the announcement posted on the streets of Jabbor Rasulovsky district and city of Khujand.

The announcement emphasizes that "the Jabbor Rasul district Police Department has announced a reward of 100,000 somoni for providing important information"

The authorities assured residents that any information about the person who provided it would be kept confidential.

It should be noted that on August 8, the prosecutor of the Sughd region, Furkat Khojazoda, commenting on this crime, stated that the murder was committed for the purpose of theft, and a working group headed by the deputy prosecutor of the region, which included employees of the prosecutor's office and the regional Department of Internal Affairs, was established to investigate it. He admitted that the perpetrators of the crime have not yet been identified or detained.

The murder of 38year-old Zarif Abdurakhimov, witnessed by his minor children, shocked the public.

The head of Jabbor Rasul district, Olimbek Yuldoshzoda, said at the time that two people had broken into Zarif Abdurakhimov's house to steal money, killed him in front of the children, and then fled.

According to Tuichiboy Otamurodzoda, deputy head of the Gulkhona village community, where Zarif Abdurakhimov lived, "it is unknown whether the criminals found the money or not. However, they blindfolded the 14 and 16year-old children of Zarif Abdurakhimov with duct tape and beat them with chains."

"Currently, the children are doing well and are under the supervision of doctors," he said.
