Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a congratulatory message to Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.

 According to the Iranian Embassy in Dushanbe, in his message, the Iranian president called the fraternal, cultural and historical ties between the peoples of the two countries a solid foundation for expanded cooperation in various fields.

"I am confident that by the will of the parties, friendly relations will continue to develop and deepen. We will witness the expansion of bilateral ties for the benefit of both countries," – the message says.

The Iranian President also wished the people of Tajikistan development and prosperity.

A few days earlier, on September 1, the Presidents of Tajikistan and Iran met and talked on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Tianjin, China.

The Presidents positively assessed the abolition of the visa regime between Tajikistan and Iran, which has played a significant role in the development of tourism, trade, transport, culture and medicine in the two countries, and paid attention to the expansion of trade and economic ties, cooperation in energy, international transportation, science and innovation, agriculture, healthcare and other sectors of mutual interest.
