In recent weeks, social media has been abuzz with complaints about the work of Dushanbe's taxi services.  Many users report that taxi drivers are often rude to passengers and prefer to drive to destinations that are more convenient for them.

Discontent with the city's taxi services has been a recurring issue for years, yet the situation seems to have changed little. Passengers frequently complain about poor customer service, rude behavior from drivers, unfamiliarity with the city's streets, refusals to travel to specific addresses, and long waiting times for rides.

Cabs are an essential part of the tourism industry, and the quality of these services greatly influences the impression visitors have of Dushanbe. Comfort, safety, and professionalism of drivers play a crucial role in shaping the city’s image.

We took to the streets of Dushanbe to ask residents about the challenges they face when calling a taxi and how satisfied they are with the service provided by taxi companies.  Check out our video for their responses

An official with the Dushanbe Administration told Asia-Plus on September 22 that 11,640 electric cars are currently in service in the city.
