Police in Khatlon province have detained a woman after a disturbing video surfaced on social media showing her violently beating her five-month-old infant.

According to the Khatlon Police Directorate, the woman has been identified as 21-year-old Shukrona Boisarova, a resident of the Temurmalik district.  Preliminary investigations suggest that the abuse occurred following a domestic dispute with her husband, to whom she allegedly sent the video "as punishment."

"The investigation revealed that the incident was the result of ongoing family issues and conflict between the spouses.  The woman consciously filmed herself using physical violence against the child and shared the video with her husband for personal motives," the department stated.

Authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident, and legal proceedings are under consideration. Police have also conducted a preventive conversation with Boisarova, explaining the legal consequences of domestic violence and the laws protecting children's rights.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that the protection of minors is a state priority, and such cases are under strict supervision.

This is not the first case of child abuse to draw public outrage in the region. Earlier, in the Jaloliddin-Balkhi district of Khatlon province, another woman was arrested after a video emerged online showing her beating her young grandchildren.

The footage, widely shared on social media, showed the woman dragging children aged between 3 and 7 into a house and striking them with a stick.  The children, visibly terrified, lay on the floor crying and begging her to stop.

The video provoked widespread condemnation, with users calling on authorities to identify and prosecute the woman responsible.

Following swift investigative efforts, police detained 55-year-old Oynagul Jonmirzoyeva, a resident of the village of Madaniyat in the Jaloliddin-Balkhi district.  At the time, Khatlon police stated that they were working to establish the reasons behind her actions.
