Criminal investigation officers in Dushanbe have identified and detained the individuals involved in the incident of abusing a person with a disability. The investigation was prompted by a video recording that gained wide resonance on social media.

As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dushanbe, the detainees were residents of Gissar: Komron Mirzoev, the driver of an AION electric vehicle working as a taxi driver, and a minor identified as K.Y.

The investigation established that on April 7 of this year, the young men showed disrespect towards a man with disabilities. In the video circulated on social networks, the teenager is seen mocking a man with a disability sitting in a taxi, performing indecent actions towards him.

“With their immoral behavior, they grossly violated public order, humiliating the honor and dignity of a person with disabilities,” noted the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs.

Currently, all materials collected regarding the offense have been handed over to the law enforcement authorities of Gissar for taking legal action against the detainees.

In connection with the incident, law enforcement agencies appeal to citizens to adhere to ethical standards and show respect towards people with disabilities. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also recommends refraining from further dissemination of videos containing offensive and degrading content.
