DUSHANBE, March 11, 2013, Asia-Plus  — Austrian President Heinz Fischer is expected to pay an official visit to Tajikistan from March 12-14.

“The Federal President of the Republic of Austria, Dr. Heinz Fischer and his wife Margit Fischer, will arrive in Dushanbe Tuesday evening,” Davlat Nazriyev, head of the Tajik MFA information department told journalists on March 11.

“On March 13, President Heinz Fischer will hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon and their talks will be followed by negotiations in enlarged format,” the Tajik MFA spokesman, “the negotiations are expected to result in signing of a number of cooperation documents”

The presidents will give a joint press briefing for journalists, Nazriyev said.

According to him, a business forum with participation of Tajik and Austrian entrepreneurs will take place on March 13.  Rahmon and Fischer will inaugurate the meeting.  After the business forum, President Heinz Fischer will meet with Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, Nazriyev noted.

During his stay in Dushanbe, President Fischer is also scheduled to hold talks with Shukurjon Zuhurov, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).

Austrian president is also scheduled to visit the National Library and his wife is expected to visit the Shohmnasour marketplace and the Opera and Ballet Theater in Dushanbe.

On March 14, President Heinz Fischer and his wife Margit Fischer will visit the National Museum of Antiquities and the Central Mosque of the Islamic Center of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.

Heinz Fischer took office on July 8, 2004 and was re-elected for a second and last term on April 25, 2010.
