DUSHANBE, April 11, 2012, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who is currently on an official visit to Belgium, today met in Brussels with Mr. Michael Borrell, Senior Vice-President for Continental Europe and Central Asia, Exploration and Production, Total S.A.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, the sides considered issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and Total S.A.
This company is expected to be engaged in exploration and development of natural gas and oil deposits in southern Tajikistan.
We will recall that the Government of Tajikistan has approved the participation of subsidiaries of Total S.A. (Total) and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in the Bokhtar Production Sharing Contract.
Tethys Petroleum Limited (Tethys), the oil and gas exploration and production company focused on Central Asia, announced on December 21, 22012 that its subsidiary, Kulob Petroleum Limited, has signed a farm-out agreement (FOA) for the Bokhtar Production Sharing Contract (PSC) in Tajikistan with subsidiaries of Total and CNPC.
