DUSHANBE, April 19, 2013, Asia-Plus — Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA), arrived in Dushanbe on Thursday (April 18) on a two-day official visit.

According to the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF), Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa was met at Dushanbe International Airport by TFF Vice-President Azizbek Rajabov and TFF Secretary General Firdavs Fayzulloyev.

Today, BFA president is scheduled to hold talks with his Tajik counterpart Rustam Emomali to discuss bilateral cooperation between the football bodies of the two countries.

The Tajikistan Football Federation is the governing body of football in Tajikistan. The federation was founded in 1936 in the Tajikistan SSR as a sub-federation of the Soviet Football Federation.  It was not until 1994 when the Federation was accepted by the international community including the continental and global associations.

The Bahrain Football Association is the governing body of football in Bahrain, and controls the Bahrain national football team. It was founded in 1957, and has been a member of FIFA since 1966. It is a member of the Asian Football Confederation.
