DUSHANBE, June 19, Asia-Plus – Working visit of President Emomali Rahmon to the northern province of Sughd is continuing.

Today morning, Rahmon arrived in Khujand, the administrative center of Sughd province, the president’s official website reports.

President Rahmon reportedly got acquainted with the progress of construction of the first presidential kindergarten in Khujand.

The construction of the kindergarten officially commenced in February this year.  A total cost of the project is 16 million somoni and it provides for construction of five two-story buildings and 16 children’s playgrounds.  The kindergarten is expected to be home for 640 talented children.

Meanwhile, President Rahmon offered to construct three-story buildings that will allow increasing the number of children to 1,000.  He also ordered to install solar panels on roofs.

The kindergarten is expected to be finished by November 1, 2013.

The president’s website says 35 new facilities have been introduced into operation in Khujand over the first five months of this year.  They have reportedly created 1,500 jobs for local residents.
