DUSHANBE, June 24, 2013, Asia-Plus — A government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait on health cooperation, which was signed in Kuwait City on June 23 on sidelines of Tajik President’s Rahmon’s state visit to Kuwait, consists of twelve points and implementation of them will be under control of the Tajik-Kuwaiti intergovernmental commission, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
“The agreement provides bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait on improvement of quality of primary health care and medical examination, development of the system of delivery of medicines and medical equipment, exchange of medical information, bilateral provision of sanitary and epidemiological supervision, support for raising qualification of medical workers as well as exchange of experience and knowledge among students and researchers of the two nations,” Ms. Dilafrouz Ghoibova, a chief specialist with the Department for International Cooperation, Ministry of Health told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Over the years of independence, Tajikistan has reportedly signed similar agreements with Ukraine, Belarus, Afghanistan, Iran, Yemen and other countries
“To-date, Tajikistan has drafted similar agreements on health cooperation with Russia, Korea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland and Qatar,” Ms. Ghoibova added.
Tajik health authorities are sure that such agreements will favorable impact on the health care system of the country, because exchange of experience and delivery of state-of-the-art medical equipment will allow improving the quality of medical services in the country.
