KULOB, August 17, 213, Asia-Plus — Ms. Rebeca Grynspan, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), who arrived in Tajikistan to attend the High-Level International Conference on Water Cooperation that will take place in the Tajik capital from August 20-21, today visited the city of Kulob.

The head of the UNDP office in Kulob, Abdullo Gulov, says Ms. Grynspan arrived here to review the UNDP projects in the area.

“Over the past 17 years, more than 500 projects and co-projects for a total amount of more than 10 million U.S. dollars have passed through UNDP in Kulob,” Gulov said.

According to him, potential disaster risk reduction and water saving projects were a major topic of a meeting of Ms. Grynspan with Kulob Mayor, Abdughaffor Rahmonov.

Deputy Prime Minister, Ms. Ruqiya Qurbonova, accompanied Ms. Grynspan on her visit to Kulob.
