DUSHANBE, December 6, 2013, Asia-Plus – On Friday December 6, President Emomali Rahmon replaced the President of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Mamadsho Ilolov was retired for age reasons.

Academician Mamadsho Ilolov had served as President of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan since February 5, 2005.

By president’s decree Farhod Rahimov was appointed the President of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

Rahimov previously served as First Deputy Minister of Education.

Farhod Rahimov, 45, received his early education in the northern city of Panjakent before graduating in 1992 from Tajik National University (Faculty of Physics).   He has scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics.

Rahimov served as Deputy Minister of Education from 2005 to 2006 and since 2006, he had served as First Deputy Minister of Education.
