DUSHANBE, December 29, 2013, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) has rose 7.3 percent in a year to November 30, 2013, reaching 35.9 billion somoni, according to the National bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
The most considerable growth has been reported in the following sectors: retail trade – 19.2 percent; construction – 17 percent; service – 9.8 percent; agriculture – 7.7 percent; and industry – 3.4 percent.
As of November 30, 2013, GDP per capita was 4,600 somoni, which is 6 percent more than in the same period last year, Tajik central bank reports.
The government has expected gross domestic product for this year to stand at 40 billion somoni, which is 11 percent more than last year. In 2014, GDP is expected to stand at some 48.5 billion somoni, in 2015 – more than 55.5 billion somoni, and in 2016 – 63.2 billion somoni.
