DUSHANBE, December 30, 2013, Asia-Plus — Tajik authorities are demanding Russia find and punish the killers of a Tajik national in Moscow.

The Tajik MFA information department reports that on December 28, Tajik MFA handed a note to Russia’ official representative in Dushanbe, expressing concern over the brutal killing of 32-year-old Shojon Rahmatshoyev in Moscow during the evening of December 26.

Tajik authorities demand Russia launch through and unbiased investigation into the incident for the purpose of finding and punishing the killers.

The Tajik side expressed deep concern over appearance of xenophobic and nationalistic motives in some Russian media sources that are taken up by radically inclined part of the population.

Tajik authorities express regret that some public figures in the Russian Federation do not worry about propagation of xenophobia that leads to such evil deeds.

We will recall that the body of Tajik national Shojon Rahmatshoyev, 32, with multiple stab wounds was found in the General Antonov Street in the evening of December 26, at around 10:00 pm.

Russian media sources report Shojon Rahmatshoyev was attacked near his apartment, stabbed 25 times and had his throat cut.

The assailants reportedly did not take any money or valuables.

Rahmatshoyev’s body was reportedly impossible to identify immediately due to the severity of the assault.

People who worked with Shojon Rahmatshoyev at one construction site were able to identify his body the morning after the murder.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted and investigators suppose that the killing was committed by a group of radical ultra-nationalists.
