KHUJAND, August 19, 2008, Asia-Plus — Customs officers at the Khujand airport have stopped an attempt of transporting hashish to Russia.
According to the Sughd customs directorate, an inspection of passengers on the Khujand-Chelyabinsk flight on the night of August 18-19 found more than 436 grams of hashish in a luggage belonging to the resident of the Roudaki district, Bouri Alizoda.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Alizoda and an investigation is under way.
