DUSHANBE, July 31, 2008, Asia-Plus — Recipients for this year’s Roudaki Awards have been selected.
Based on submissions and recommendations of a special commission, recipients have been selected as prize winners for their significant contributions in the areas of art, literature and architecture, according to presidential press service.
Poetess Inoyat Khojayeva (she is known under the pen name of Farzona, poet Muhammad Ghoib, and writer Barot Abdurahmon have been selected as recipients for the Roudaki Award for their contributions in literature, Honored Artiste of Tajikistan Gulchehra Sodiqova has been selected as prize winner for a series of songs about homeland, and sculpture Rahmat Botouraliyev has been selected as prize winner for bas-relief “Iskandarnomai Khujand.”
Besides, Iranian researcher Said Nafisi has become the first foreign prize winner for a series of works about literary heritage of Abu Abdullo Roudaki, the press service said.
