DUSHANBE, May 7, 2014, Asia-Plus – French corporation, Groupe Auchan SA, plans to expand its operations to Tajikistan.

According to the Sughd regional administration, this issue was discussed at a meeting of Sughd governor Abdurahmon Qodiri with representatives of the company in Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province.

Groupe Auchan SA reportedly plans to open supermarkets in Khujand and on its outskirts.  The company also intends to make contribution to export of products manufactured by Sughd enterprises, the source said.

Groupe Auchan SA is a French international retail group and multinational corporation headquartered in Croix, France.  It is one of the world”s principal distribution groups with a presence in 12 countries and 269,000 employees.

Auchan now has branches in France, and internationally in Italy, India, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Poland, Hungary, Russia, China, Taiwan, Romania and Ukraine.
