DUSHANBE, July 26, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A court in Qurghon Teppa, Khatlon province has sentenced Iranian national Shalchian Khaje Ali Akbar to six months in jail, Asia-Plus has learned at the Council of Justice.

The source at the Council of justice said that Shalchian Khaje Ali Akbar arrived in Tajikistan two years ago for participation in construction of Iranian-built Sangtuda-2 power plant and was fired at the end of last year.  However, he has not returned to Iran and remained in Dushanbe.

“At the beginning of this year, he was detained in one of hotels in Qurghon Teppa on suspicion of having spread porno photos and polygamy,” the source said.

According to him, the preliminary investigation has established that Shalchian Khaje Ali Akbar simultaneously had two wives – one in Dushanbe and one in Qurghon Teppa.  “Numerous porno photos were confiscated from him,” the source said.
