DUSHANBE, June 7, 2014, Asia-Plus – Kyrgyzstan’s parliament has approved the appointment of Miroslav Niyazov as Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, according to Kyrgyz news agency

He replaced Umrat Saralayev, who had served as Kyrgyz Ambassador to Tajikistan since October 20, 2010.

Miroslav Niyazov, 62, Kyrgyz politician.  In 1996-1997, he served as Deputy Minister of Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.  In 2001-2005, Niyazov served as Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan.  From April 2005 to September 2006, he was Acting Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan; he voluntarily resigned on September 28, 2006.

In April 2010, he became leader of the El Armany party.  On May 14, 2010, Niyazov headed the Public Movement “For Revival of Kyrgyzstan’s Statehood.”  

Miroslav Niyazov is author of numerous articles on regional security, border, and hydro power issues of the region.
