DUSHANBE, June 10, Asia-Plus — Students from the Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS) will visit Tajikistan from June 11 to June 14, according to the British Embassy in Dushanbe.

The group reportedly consists of 8 UK and 9 international senior officers from a variety of military organizations.

The overseas study tour is key element of the RCDS course.  A visit of this nature comes to Tajikistan rarely, and takes place under the agreed Defense Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding that exists between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Tajikistan.

As part of the tour agenda the RCDS team will have a series of meetings with government as well as non-government institutions; such as the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), covering the political, financial, social, legal and economic situations in Tajikistan and the region.

The RCDS delegation will also have an opportunity to make some cultural visits and travel outside Dushanbe.  They will also attend the Queen’s Birthday Party.
