DUSHANBE, June 24, 2014, Asia-Plus – Five persons, including four teens, were killed yesterday as Opel-Astra fell into the Varzob River, 43 kilometers to the north of Dushanbe.
According to the Interior Ministry, the car, driven by Ironkhon Isoyev, 43, was moving from Khujand to Dushanbe. Isoyev reportedly lost control of his car and it fell into the river. The driver and his four passengers – Saidumar Isoyev, 15, Saidusmon Isoyev, 13, Ismoil Hamdamov, 15, and Behrouz Homidov, 15 – were killed in the accident
According to information from the Sports Committee of Istaravshan (Sughd province), Ironkhon Isoyev was head coach of the Istaravshan youth basketball team and the teens were members of this team.
