Kazakhstan has become Tajikistan’s important partner and its main investor. This was reported by the Kazakh President, Nursultan Nazabayev, today in Akkorda while a number of foreign ambassadors were presenting their credentials.
Mr. Nazarbayev said: “Kazakhstan views Tajikistan as an important partner in the Central Asian region. We have become a large trade partner and a main investor for the country. Kazakh investments into the Tajik economy have exceeded 125 million dollars. Approximately 40 companies work with the Kazakh capital. However, mutual trade turnover should be increased and the scope of cooperation expanded.”
According to the Kazakh media, the President noted that Kazakhstan is interested in jointly implementing bilateral projects in agricultural products processing, construction, and food industry.
Among other new ambassadors in Astana, the new Tajik ambassador Nazirmad Alizadeh also presented his credentials to Kazakhstan’s leader.
