A working group of Tajikistan’s Central Election Commission, headed by a Commission member, Ziya Rahman, held a training seminar for potential members of the local election commission today in Tajikabad district.
They are going to be organizing the upcoming parliamentary elections in the winter of next year.
Abdumannan Dadaev, Head of the Administration of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of Tajikistan, the seminar participants studied the amendments to the instruction on precinct election commissions, on MP candidates, on reviewing complaints and appeals, on electoral districts on electing members of the Upper Chamber of Parliament, and on the candidates’ level of knowledge of the official language.
Mr. Dadaev noted: “New amendments to the electoral laws, such as reducing the monetary election pledge, a ban on government officials chairing pre-election meetings, and new rules on filling out the application forms, were studied.”
According to him, such a seminar was also recently held in Jirgatal district.
