DUSHANBE, November 20, 2014, Asia-Plus — On Thursday November 20, Shukurjon Zuhurov, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), received a delegation of the European Parliament for relations with Central Asia led by Ms. Iveta Grigule.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the sides discussed state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between the parliaments of Tajikistan and the European Union.
They, in particular, discussed bilateral cooperation on democratization of Tajik society and strengthening of economic and humanitarian components, Sultonov noted.
According to him, the sides also discussed issues related to strengthening of Tajikistan’s common border with Afghanistan and bilateral cooperation in the fields of science and culture.
