DUSHANBE, November 24, 2014, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan and Kuwait have signed a visa-exemption deal for nationals of the two countries who hold diplomatic, special and service passports.

The Tajik MFA information department reports the document was inked by Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Kuwait City, the capital of the State of Kuwait on November 23.

In the course of the talks, the sides reportedly discussed a broad range of issues related by state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral between Tajikistan and Kuwait.

Sirojiddin Aslov, in particular, noted that Tajikistan attached significance to expansion of cooperation with the State of Kuwait and said that Tajik President’s first visit to Kuwait in April 1995 laid foundation for bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Kuwait is celebrated next year and Tajik foreign minister proposed to draw up a program of festive events.

Aslov also proposed to work out a cooperation program for the period of 2015-2020, the source said.
