DUSHANBE, November 28, 2014, Asia-Plus – Mr. Sharif Rahimzoda, Tajik Minister of Economic Development and Trade, met on November 26 in Paris on with Mr. Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
The two reportedly discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and France in various fields.
Rahimzoda and Fekl also discussed a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest, including regional security in Central Asia against the backcloth of withdrawal of international coalition forces from Afghanistan.
Rahimzoda arrived in Paris to participate in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Eurasia Week that took place in Paris from November 24 to November 27.
The OECD Eurasia Week brought together high-level representatives from the Eurasia region, OECD member countries, academics, business leaders, international partner organizations, civil society and relevant experts on the thematic issues.
The objective of the OECD Eurasia Week is to build on the work of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Program and create an opportunity to further strengthen the relations between the countries of the Eurasia region and the OECD. It is also an opportunity to raise the visibility of the enhanced co-operation on a broad spectrum of thematic issues relevant to further improving the region’s competitiveness.
