DUSHANBE, December 29, 2014, Asia-Plus – The Communist Party of Tajikistan (CPT) has included 15 candidates in the party list for election to Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament that will take place on March 1, 2015.
The pre-election congress of the Communist Party that took place in Dushanbe on December 27 endorsed the list of candidates included in the party list (proportional representation) for the 2015 parliamentary election.
The following members of the CPT were included in the party list:
- Shodi Shabdolov, Chairman of the CPT;
- Ismoil Talbakov, Secretary of the CPT;
- Mirzonajot Nabotov, Head the CPT’s Organization in the Mastchod District (Sughd);
- Nozimjon Mahmoudov, Secretary of the CPT, Sughd Province;
- Zaragul Mirasalova, Secretary of the CPT Central Committee;
- Gulchehra Yormatova, teacher, Qurghon Teppa, Khatlon Province;
- Faridoun Davlatov, professor, Tajik Teachers’ Training University, Dushanbe;
- Sofiya Sultonova, teacher, Khujand State University, Sughd Province;
- A. Sharifov, lawyer;
10. Safargul Davlatyorova, teacher;
11. Mahmadali Odinayev, Director of the Poultry Plant in the Fayzobod District;
12. A. Khabirov, deputy Director of Barqi Tojik;
13. Ikhtiyor Ashourov, Pro-rector of Tajik Agricultural University;
14. Nourullo Sulashov, power engineering specialist, Norak;
15. Meroj Abdulloyev, police veteran.
The congress also endorsed the party’s election program.
Besides, the congress expelled from the party Abdujabbor Ahmadov, who was allegedly elected head of the CPT’s organization for Sughd province illegally.
According to Ismoil Talbakov, Abdujabbor Ahmadov has nothing to do with the party over the last six years.
Founded in 1918, the Communist Party of Tajikistan was registered in 1991. According to some sources, the party now has more than 45,000 members. Shodi Shabdolov is leader of the party.
