DUSHANBE, January 5, 2015, Asia-Plus — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament (Majlisi Oli) discussed a number of agreements at a January 5 meeting, presided over by its head, Shukurjon Zuhurov.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the board, in particular, decided to submit for ratification the convention between Tajikistan and Austria for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital, the grant agreement to finance the Tajikistan Agriculture Commercialization Project (The project is jointly supported by the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and is funded by a grant from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of US$22 million), and the agreement between Tajikistan and China Exim Bank on concessional loan for construction of plants for production of aluminum fluoride and cryolite in Tajikistan.
The board also decided to submit for ratification the agreements between Tajikistan and China Exim Bank on concessional loans for construction of the Vahdat-Yovon section of the rail link connecting Dushanbe and Qurghon Teppa and construction of the second line of the Dushanbe-2 combined heat and power (CHP) plant, Sultonov said.
