DUSHANBE, January 5, 2015, Asia-Plus — in 2014, Tajik courts passed 21 acquittals and five life sentences, Zafar Azizzoda, the head of the Council of Justice (Shuroi Adliya) announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on January 5.

According to him, 795 criminal proceedings were instituted against 978 representatives of the law enforcement agencies in 2014, 35 of them, including two judges from the Bobojonghafourov District and Vahdat Township, were already convicted.      

“Last year, Tajik courts considered 131,998 cases, which was 4,472 cases fewer than in 2013,” Azizzoda said.
