DUSHANBE, June 17, Asia-Plus  — The trial of three officers of one of military units of the Ministry of Defense (MoD), deployed in the Rasht Valley, began in the military board of Tajikistan’s Supreme Court on June 16.  

Proceedings started with the reading of the indictment, which charges them with abusing their positions (Article 389) and violating driving regulations.  

The source at the Supreme Court said that on October 11 2007, the defendants got 12 demobilized soldiers onto truck loaded with potatoes.  Four soldiers were killed and at least eight others were injured as the truck fell into precipice in the Jirgatol district.
