KULOB, June 11, Asia-Plus — Over the first five months of this year, the city and the district of Kulob have produced a total of 15.5095 million somonis (TJS) worth of industrial goods, which is TJS212,000 more than in the same period of last year, the deputy Kulob mayor, Ismatullo Nusratov, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, the private small enterprises have accounted for some 30 percent of the volume of industrial goods produced in Kulob over the report period, having produced 5.606 million worth of goods.
Over the same five-month period, the private sector has produced 2,566 tons of wheat flour, 434 tons of bread, 191 tons of cooked (cotton) oil, and 280 tons of meats, the deputy mayor said.
“Meanwhile, the state-run enterprises have produced only 80.6 tons of wheat flour in January-May 2008,” said Nusratov. “No kilogram of cooked oil has been produced by then over the report period”
