DUSHANBE, July 14, 2015, Asia-Plus — In Tajikistan, inflation for the first six months of this year has stood at 2.6 percent, according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

In June, Tajikistan’s inflation reportedly stood at 0.1 percent.

The government expects the year-end inflation to stand at 7.5 percent in 2015, an official source at Tajik central bank told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Last year, inflation reportedly stood at 7.4 percent, 0.1 percent lower than it was originally forecasted.

In 2013, Tajikistan had the lowest inflation rate among Central Asia’s countries.

In Central Asia, the highest average inflation rate in 2013 was recorded in Uzbekistan – 7.0 percent.  In Turkmenistan, inflation last year stood at 6.0 percent, Kazakhstan – 4.5 percent, and Kyrgyzstan – 4.0 percent.  In Tajikistan, the year-end inflation stood at 3.7 percent in 2013.
