DUSHANBE, July 21, 2015, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon has extended condolences to families and relatives of victims of mudslides in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region and Rasht.
The president’s official website reports recent mudslides left six dead in the Vanj district in Gorno Badakhshan and one dead in Rasht.
The president reportedly gave concrete tasks on mitigation of the disaster effects to the prime minister, the ministers of transport and energy as well as the head of the committee for emergency situations.
Rahmon also ordered local authorities to provide moral and financial assistance to families of the disaster victims, the website says.
