DUSHANBE, July 29, 2015, Asia-Plus – Yesterday afternoon, President Emomali Rahmon visited the Darvoz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).

According to the president’s official website, Rahmon attended a ceremony of an official opening of a four-story apartment building for employees of the branch of Tojik Sodirot Bonk (TSB) in the administrative center of the Darvoz district.

The president also gave start to construction of a new building for the Darvoz education department.  The estimated budget for construction of the building is 2.481 million somoni and it is expected to be finished by 2017.

In the Dashtak village, Rahmon got acquainted with the marble-processing enterprise, Karona-Marmar.  The enterprise was reportedly built by local entrepreneurs with attraction of foreign investments from Italy and China.  More than 30 people now work at this enterprise.

In the Umarak village, the president inaugurated women’s training center, Mehri Modar.  Young women from neighboring Afghanistan also have an opportunity to take training courses at this center.

President Rahmon also attended a ceremony of an official opening of a six-story hotel in Qalai Khumb, the administrative center of the Darvoz district.  Rahmon held a meeting with regional administrators and local residents at the hotel.
