            KULOB, May 3, Asia-Plus  — The Week of Memory dedicated to the63 rd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, initiated by the Kulob Association of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, was launched in the Kulob region, Khatlon province on May 2.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Rustam Abduqayumov, the head of the Kulob Association of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, said that activities organized within the framework of the Week of Memory include laying wreaths at monuments to servicemen that died in that war and the war in Afghanistan as well as those who died in actions while defending the constitutional order in Tajikistan, putting military cemeteries in order and meeting with school students.

According to him, more than 1,300 veterans of the war in Afghanistan currently live in the Kulob region.
