DUSHANBE, April 19, Asia-Plus  — Over the past nine days, more than 2,000 tons of basic food products have been delivered to markets in Dushanbe, Asomiddin Rizoyev, the head of Dushanbe commerce and markets directorate, told Asia-Plus Friday afternoon.  

“1,500 tons of flour, 90 tons of meat, 70 tons of cooking oil, 65 tons of sugar and 400 tons of rice have been delivered to the city over the mentioned period,” Rizoyev said.  

According to him, the grade 1 flour, imported from Kazakhstan, is currently realized at the rate of 112 somonis for a 50-kilogram sack.  “However, we have permitted to realize it at 115 somonis for the sack.”    

At present, the price of one kilogram of beef is 16 somonis and the price of one kilogram of mutton is 18 somonis in Dushanbe, while in Hissor, beef costs 17 somonis per kilogram,  in Tursunzoda and Vahdat – 18 somonis.  In Tursunzoda, the price of one kilogram of mutton is currently 20 somonis and in Vahdat – 19 somonis, according to him.    

Dushanbe authorities have also purchased cattle and sheep and goats from Jirgatol, Rasht, Spitamen and Mastchoh districts, Rizoyev said.     

The price of one kilogram of rice currently fluctuates from 2.6 to 4 somonis in Dushanbe.
