DUSHANBE, April 19, Asia-Plus  — A meeting of drug control experts from member nations of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in Tehran on April 14-17.

Tajikistan was represented at the meeting by officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA).  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Abdulhamid Norov, the head of the DCA department for international cooperation, said that the meeting participants had reported on the drug situations in their countries. 

According to him, the ECO drug control experts also worked a plan of drug control actions in the coming five years.  The plan will be submitted for consideration to the 22nd ECO interior ministers; session that will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from May 26-27 this year. 

The meeting participants also considered issues related to further improvement of the ECO drug control coordination unit, Norov said.
