KULOB, April 17, Asia-Plus  — Muzaffar Ismoilov, a mullah at the mosque in the village of Sangrezi, Khatlon’s Khovaling district has got a jail prison of one year and six months.

A court in the Khovaling district sentenced Muzaffar Ismoilov, a mullah at the mosque in the Lohouti jamoat of the Sangrezi village, to 1 ½ years imprisonment with a stay execution for the same period.  The sentence followed his conviction on charges of depraved actions towards the minors    

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Khovaling prosecutor Abdulmumin Haidarov said that on September 7, 2007, the resident of the Lohouti village Sangmahmad Kabirov invited Muzaffar Ismoilov to perform a ritual for his minor daughter Navrouzbi Pirnazar.  “The libertine cleric took the opportunity for depraved actions towards the minor girl,” the prosecutor said.
