DUSHANBE, April 16, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday April 15, President Emomali Rahmon met with visiting Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha. 

In the course of the talks, Rahmon named Tajikistan’s relations with other member nations of the Organization prospective, presidential press service said.   Noting that Tajikistan attaches significance to participation in the CSTO and intensification of its activity, the Tajik head of state stressed that the Organization promotes improvement of regional and international security.  

The president underlined the role of the CSTO in addressing modern challenges and threats, including terrorism and extremism.  

During the meeting, the two exchanged views on the upcoming sessions of the councils of the CSTO and the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC), the present situation in Afghanistan, fight against drug trafficking and other regional and international issues being of mutual interest, according to presidential press service.
