DUSHANBE, April 11 Asia-Plus — Tajik female writer, Ms. Gulchehra Poulodova has won the international literary competition “Russkaya Premiya” (Russian Award) for 2007 in the “small prose” (short stories) category. 

The award ceremony for winners of the competition was held at the Central Writers’ House in Moscow on April 8.  

Recipients for the Russkaya Premiya awards are selected for their significant contributions in the area of promoting keeping the Russian language as a unique phenomenon of culture within the post-Soviet area.  

The award of $5,000 were handed over to prize winners together with the certificate.  

 Gulchehra Poulodova graduated from Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages named after Maurice Thorez (currently Moscow State Linguistic University), German Language Department.  She has scientific degree of the Candidate of Sciences in Philology.  She currently works as English teacher with private school in Dushanbe.
