DUSHANBE, November 30, 2015, Asia-Plus — The final meeting on the project “Development of Fruit and Vegetable (F&V) Processing Sector in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan” and the presentation of the academic course “Main principles/points of production control necessary for the functioning of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) based on НАССР (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles,” developed in the framework of the project, will take place on December 1.
According to the Delegation of European Union to Tajikistan, the event is organized by the National Association of Small and Medium Business of Tajikistan (NASMB, the Project Partner) together with non-governmental organization “British Expertise” (UK, the Applicant) with the financial support of the European Union within the Central Asia Invest (CAI) III Program.
The project is aimed at the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) involved in F&V processing sector in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and on strengthening the capacity of the Business Intermediate Organizations (BIOs) providing consulting services to these enterprises, in order to strengthen their positions in the national, regional and international markets.
Representatives of SMEs, consulting companies, academic and governmental institutions involved in F&V processing sector generally and in food safety control in particular take part in the project.
The academic course has been developed as additional output of the project answering the needs to continue disseminating knowledge on HACCP and FSMS to future consultants and experts of food processing sector of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan through relevant academic institutions.
