DUSHANBE, March 4, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon offered his congratulations on Monday to Dmitry Medvedev on his landslide victory in Russia’s presidential election, presidential press service said.  

In his telegram of congratulations, the Tajik head of state, in particular, noted that Medvedev’s landslide victory in the election is evidence of Russian people’s support for policy conducted by the Russian government over the last years and aimed at development of the Russian Federation, strengthening of its prestige on international arena and further expansion of cooperation with CIS states.  

“We are confident that the upcoming period of Tajik-Russian strategic partnership, which is an important factor of providing stability and security in the region and meets interests of our states and peoples, will witness new examples of fruitful cooperation.  The Tajik side is ready to undertake all necessary efforts for this,” the telegram said.
