DUSHANBE, July 15, 2016, Asia-Plus – Construction of a joint Russian-Tajik enterprise for assembling Russian-made municipal vehicles will start in Dushanbe in the near future, Ravshan Tuichizoda, the deputy director-general of the State Unitary Enterprise “Khojagii Manziliyu Kommunali” (the central governmental agency responsible for water supply and wastewater services), told reporters in Dushanbe on July 14.

According to him, specialists from the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) developed the project for construction of the Russian-made municipal vehicles assembly plant and it was submitted for consideration to the Tajik government.

“The estimated budget for the construction of the plant and the purchase of equipment is more than 3 million U.S. dollars,” Tuichizoda said.

“At the first stage, the plant will assemble 20 municipal vehicles per year and it will also repair municipal vehicles.”

Tuichizoda further added that it could not be ruled out that the municipal vehicles assembled in Dushanbe would be exported to neighboring countries.

The State Unitary Enterprise “Khojagii Manziliyu Kommunali” currently has more than 800 municipal vehicles, but only little more than 350 of them are operational.
