DUSHANBE, July 27, 2016, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmon today paid a working visit to the Hamadoni district in Khatlon province.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon inaugurated a number of new social and educational facilities in the region.

He, in particular, attended a ceremony of an official opening of a water supply system in the district.  The system was constructed under financial support of Japan’s government.

The project reportedly improved access to safe drinking water in the district administrative center and more than twenty villages.  A total cost of the project is more than 16 million U.S. dollars.   

While in the district administrative center, the president also inaugurated new buildings of the Hamadoni education department and local tax department.

Rahmon also visited a number of farming units in the Hamadoni district.
