DUSHANBE, January 10, Asia-Plus  — Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov yesterday held a number of meetings with participation of high-ranking Tajik state officials in the Khatlon province to discuss introduction of a new mechanism of financing farming units.

The first meeting was held in the Yovon district.  According to Mirzoashraf Sharipov, members of the commission for introduction of the new financing mechanism, the meeting participants included Abdurahmon Qodiri, Minister for Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Sharif Rahimzoda, Chairman of the State Committee for Investments and Management of State-owned Property, Murodali Alimardonov, chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), Davlatsho Gulmahmadov, Director for the Land Utilization Agency, Ghybullo Avzalov, chairman of Khatlon, as well as heads of branches of Agroinvestbonk, Tojiksodirotbonk (TSB), Orienbonk and TajPromBank for Yovon.  

Speaking at the meeting, Oqilov said that the dehqan (peasant) farms’ debts would be restructured and part of debts of dehqan farms for electricity and water had already been cleared off by the government.  

Similar meetings were also held in Jomi and Khuroson districts.
