Deputies of Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament (Majlisi Namoyandagon) have unanimously endorsed amendments offered by the government to the country’s law on the national budget for 2017.

Presenting to lawmakers the bill on amendments made to the law “On the National Budget for 2017,” Deputy Finance Minister, Mehrinamo Jonmamadova, noted that the government proposes to exempt the delivery of 64 buses totally worth 51.4 million somoni to Tajikistan for Dushanbe from value added tax (VAT) and customs duties. The amount of exemption is reportedly 12.3 million somoni
According to her, the government also proposes to exempt the delivery of the angiographic equipment intended for the Danghara district hospital from VAT and customs duties. The devices itself costs 5.5 million somoni and the amount of exemption is 1.3 million somoni, the deputy minister said
As a result, the national budget will receive 13.6 million somoni less.
Angiography or arteriography is a medical imaging technique used to visualize the inside, or lumen, of blood vessels and organs of the body, with particular interest in the arteries, veins, and the heart chambers. This is traditionally done by injecting a radio-opaque contrast agent into the blood vessel and imaging using X-ray based techniques such as fluoroscopy.
Depending on the type of angiogram, access to the blood vessels is gained most commonly through the femoral artery, to look at the left side of the heart and at the arterial system; or the jugular or femoral vein, to look at the right side of the heart and at the venous system. Using a system of guide wires and catheters, a type of contrast agent (which shows up by absorbing the x-rays), is added to the blood to make it visible on the x-ray images.
