A tripartite meeting of leaders of Tajikistan (Emomali Rahmon), Afghanistan (Mohammad Ashraf Ghani) and Pakistan (Nawaz Sharif) is expected to take place in Dushanbe on July 6.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the meeting that is being held at the initiative of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will focus on a wide range of issues related to political, economic and security cooperation between the three countries.  

A special attention will be given to trade and investment, development of energy and transportation infrastructures as well as expansion of cooperation between business communities of the three nations.  

The sides will also exchange views on ways to support reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy and joint efforts to address regional and global challenges and threats, the Tajik MFA information department said.  

The meeting is expected to result in signing of a joint statement for enhancing the comprehensive partnership, creating new mechanisms of cooperation in key sectors and giving new impulse to development of regional processes.
