In a statement delivered at a meeting with domestic entrepreneurs and foreign investors in Dushanbe, President Emomali Rahmon on October 14 called on them to support any initiatives of Tajik businesswomen, the Tajik president’s official website said.
According to him, the government has created favorable conditions of development of female entrepreneurship in the country.
Over the past decade, presidential grants totaling more than 12 million somoni have been awarded to support female entrepreneurship and raising legal awareness of Tajik businesswoman,” the head of state was quoted as saying by his press center.
Today, 22 percent of entrepreneurial enterprises, 10 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises and 25 percent of leading farming units in the country are headed by women, which is ten times as much compared to 2010, Rahmon noted.
The head of state ordered the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), the Committee for Women and Family Affairs, the Entrepreneurship Support Fund and local authorities to support constructive and creative initiatives of local businesswomen, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
